Robert E. Doan, Esq.
Robert Doan is board certified in construction law by the Florida Bar and is a Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator. He attended the University of Florida on a Florida Academic Scholars scholarship, where he participated in the undergraduate honors program and was selected for membership in Florida Blue Key. He remained in Gainesville after earning his bachelor’s degree and attended the University of Florida Law School. Upon graduation, Mr. Doan accepted an associate attorney position in the construction litigation department of the West Palm Beach law firm of Boose, Casey, Ciklin, Lubitz, Martens, McBane & O’Connell before opening his own firm. He joined Fisher, Butts, Sechrest and Warner in 2004.
Mr. Doan works on legal issues for clients ranging in size from billion dollar construction and engineering firms, to small design firms, to subcontractors, suppliers, and commercial and residential project owners. Mr. Doan handles contract disputes, bond claims, lien law, design re-use disputes, warranty claims, defect claims, insurance coverage disputes, open account collections and a variety of other construction and design related issues in both the pre-litigation and litigation phase of disputes. Mr. Doan’s practice area also includes real estate and business litigation, as well as select personal injury and business tort cases. Mr. Doan handles cases in all counties of Florida. In addition to representing clients, Mr. Doan frequently teaches continuing education courses to the construction industry, and has served as a guest lecturer in construction law at the University of Florida College of Building Construction and the College of Law. Mr. Doan serves on the Florida Bar Construction Law Committee, the Construction Law Legislative Subcommittee, and he is a member of various residential and commercial building associations.
